We stumbled across this gem after a morning of hiking and it was the perfect choice for a lovely afternoon meal and beverages. Enjoy time on their downtown patio while you chow down on some truly delicious grub. I had the fish tacos (GF!) … More

Boundary Bay is one of our favorite places to visit, we've been coming here since shortly after they opened in 1995. Everything on the menu is good! Favorites are the fish (cod) tacos, pesto salmon sandwich, the salmon chowder, and the … More

The food and the beer were excellent. Had the Banh Mi bowl and a North West IPA, both were delicious. The server, however, seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else other than working here. Kinda put a real damper on the whole experience, but who knows what was going on in his life on this day. Still, it made the experience less than memorable. I know you’re not here to entertain, but even showing a little enthusiasm would go a long way, otherwise find another career?

I usually avoid leaving negative reviews—especially when most of the experience was actually quite good. The location is great, parking was fine, and the building has a nice, clean look without being over-designed. The overall vibe is super chill and positive, with a friendly, hippie-style atmosphere. The food was tasty, with vegan options available, which is always appreciated!
Unfortunately, the service brought the experience down. Our server—a young woman—seemed really disengaged, like she didn’t want to be there. I get it, we all have off days, and maybe she just needed a break. But as a guest coming to relax and enjoy, it’s a bit disappointing when the energy feels off and no one even checks in to ask how the food was.
This isn’t a complaint to get anyone in trouble—just a friendly suggestion to the management: maybe offer a bit more training or support to the team. There’s so much potential here!
For now, I can only give ⭐️⭐️⭐️—but I genuinely hope to see improvements and would be happy to come back and give it another shot.

Absolutely amazing food! And great service! Are waitress was very nice and did a great job. Nice clean environment and lovely art to look at. I don’t recommend going late at night however because they were out of a lot of options. The Mac & cheese was so good! I’ve never had better! More

I’ll start with the positive, the keg burger was fantastic and a top tier burger. It was the right amount of heat and toppings. We did have to wait 10 minutes to sit inside, although there seemed to be tables on the patio we could have sat at also it wasn’t that crowded at all. The food also took about 25 minutes to reach our table. Sitting at a drafty table, I think it was maybe an off day but a weekend lunch should have expected a bit better

Great food including vegan options, and large assortment of beer. We asked for a flight and it came in an adorable little boat. As a head's up, in the spring and summer, the farmers market is directly across the street and parking can be difficult to find. All parking (street and in a lot) requires payment

Great beer selection, excellent service, friendly atmosphere. The food is a cut above the average pub fare. I had the salmon chowder and the pesto salmon sandwich with roasted potatoes. Delicious! Anikah served me at the bar. She was there when needed, and never intrusive. It was my first time there, but she greeted many of her apparent regulars by name, and knew their preferred drinks. Great place! I hope to become a regular.

I had salad and soup. My son had the burger and wifey had quesadillas I believe. They were all fantastic! I was shocked at how good the clam chowder soup was. BBB will be seeing us soon when we’re back in lovely Bellingham. A must go for all. Especially Canadians because that’s who we are. And the service was amazing as well as the atmosphere.

Family favorite for 30 years. Hard to imagine Bellingham without BB. The blat, harvest salad, mac n cheese, deviled eggs, burger on Ralph's pretzel bun and root beer are some of my favorites. Love the beer garden. Been to so many shows, events and celebrations there. Thank you for serving the community for so many years, you will be missed

We visited 15 breweries on our Beercation. My mom who's a solid Miller Lite drinker said after her second sip of Boundary Lager, "this is my favorite beer". Then she had her Banh Mi Bowl... "this is the best food." She liked it so much that our last day in town three days later she requested this be a last stop for beer and food. I explained crowlers to her and asked if she wanted one, but she declined. We parked out front of the brewery @ a meter...after sticking my credit card in three times and getting an error we went to the brewery to ask for assistance... we know we're smarter than a meter! We asked hostess Brawnty which she just kept saying they have nothing to do w the meters. My mom asked if anyone could help us? Brawny directed us to bartender Madison who said she wasn't sure either but she could try to help, my mom & her went out to the meter. Surprise!! Bellingham... what?! You put your credit card in the meter so it doesn't even read the chip!! Meter hack... I guess. Brian was our friendly server and when we returned a few days later, he was our server again! I like the tap room, it's spacious and fun: read note the canoes and other things suspended near the ceiling. I was intrigued to try the beer as Boundary Bay was celebrating 29 years that week! My mom opted for the Boundary Lager, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for small pours of the Scotch Ale and Forever Young Porter. For lunch she had the Banh Mi bowl. After discussing w Brian who recommended the Cubano I opted for Mama J's BBQ Pork. Ehhh... it was good....but underwhelming... nobody put the bbq sauce on it. It was juicy buy juicy pork w coleslaw wasn't what I was going for. The sides options were chips or baby red potatoes. Brian suggested the potatoes... I wouldn't do those again. I only had a few but they took up a lot of space in my belly so I took most of the sandwich home w me. I should have flagged Brian down but..... Passive Aggressive Midwesterner.... Clearly that didn't sway our decision to come back. My mom again got her Boundary Lager. I opted for the Oktoberfest and split the Banh Mi sandwich with my mom. I liked their use of kegs on the patio. Thanks Boundary Bay for delicious beers, ,meals and helpful staff.

So glad I had the chance to visit Boundary Bay before they retire — what an experience!
The “Look No Hands” Hazy IPA was excellent, bright and flavorful, and their on-tap cider was equally delicious. I also tried a Manhattan — it was just okay, but to be fair, this is a brewery, not a cocktail bar, so I’ll let that slide.
Food-wise, the clam chowder is a full 5/5 — creamy, rich, and everything you want on a Northwest evening. The salmon chowder was more of a 3/5 for me; big chunks of salmon (which I loved), but it needed a little more flavor. With some extra salt and pepper, I still happily ate it, and even enjoyed the leftovers later that night.
But the real star of the menu? The steamed clams. Absolute showstopper. The sauce they come in is phenomenal — the kind of broth you mop up with bread until the bowl is bone dry. My table went silent while eating them, everyone just scooping, slurping, and soaking up that sauce. Do not skip these!
Also, if you get a salad, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the harvest salad. It’s hearty, flavorful, and the best choice on the greens side.
Boundary Bay is truly a Bellingham classic, and while I’m sad they’re closing, I’m so glad I got to experience it firsthand. A memory worth keeping.
